I guess if all else fails in this economy, Ben and I can most definitely go into the B&B business ;) We've consistently had a house-guest in our second bedroom for over two weeks! It has been so much fun - but I must admit that I am utterly exhausted. Last night was the first time Ben and I had been at the house alone - and although it has been amazing having our friends and family back-to-back, it was nice to chill on the couch in my p.j's alone with my bean.
This weekend was jam-packed with some work and play. On Friday I was in a fashion show at the Standard Hotel in South Beach. It was fun and exhausting, and not to mention a great opportunity to network. A friend of mine, Julia, organized the show and all proceeds went to K.I.D.S charity. I was excited for her that the event got a great deal of media coverage: Ocean Drive Mag, Plum T.V, The Beach Channel, etc.
Below is a pic from the show, you'll see that my eyebrows are one hot mess (but under the lights it looks normal, believe it or not!) - Ben calls this my uni-brow picture.
Below is a picture of Julia and I before the show.
Afterward we decided to forgo the after-party at Santo to hang at the house with some friends. I felt very lucky to have my own cheering section at the show :) Thanks to all of you who came to support me.
Much of last week was spent doing things to prepare for the show - fittings, etc., but on Tuesday it was all about Barack! We had some friends over for an inauguration party and, interestingly enough, during one of the commercial breaks on MSNBC Ben starts to scream and point at the tv. The commercial that I filmed last month (right before Christmas) was on tv. Thank heavens for TiVo - I also found a copy on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_IZDqJJta8
I have so many pictures to upload to the blog - and hopefully you'll begin to understand why I've been a bit M.I.A. I promise, my friends, I won't leave you hanging for another week without any posts again :) More pics to come when I get home (I can transfer them later) ... and more funny stories. Oh, and btw, the Coppelclan Inn's Vacancy sign is back on - who is next?
Under the "don't say anything if you haven't got anything nice to say" caveat, I will say this: You were the best thing about that hot mess of a production.
Oops, I let something not nice slip in. Lol.
