As I sit here at 1:40 a.m. to write this post, I realize just how little time I have these days. Today was just another typical day: starting with work from 8 a.m -5:30, straight to 5:45-7:00 meeting and then fave gym class at 8 p. I rounded off the night with a beach walk with the Bean and dinner at 11. Since then I have been paying bills, writing "thank you's" and updating my accounts ... so now finally I come to you (I keep my promises!).
Last weekend's bachelorette party was muy fabulosa - my sister went above and beyond to plan the most amazing, thoughtful and creative experience, I am truly touched. I've always known that I have the most amazing sister in the world and, as usual, she never ceases to amaze me.
The jam-packed weekend started on Friday with a surprise journey of horseback riding through the lush, green trails of KY. I was still a little feverish and weak, but I rallied because I was so excited about the ride. We were about halfway through the trail when my mother began to complain about her eye. By the time we rounded the end of the trip my mother's eye was as large as a baseball - she was having an allergic reaction to the horse! We rushed her to the urgent treatment center where, thankfully, they gave her a shot and everything was fine. It's a family joke, but no trip home is complete without the good ole' fashioned visit to the urgent-treatment center - glad this time was no exception!
Me and Mando when I found out that I was going horseback riding.
After horseback riding, Amanda surprised me with the news that we would all be staying in downtown Louisville at the Seelbach Hotel - and his hotel is no joke; it's rich in history and tradition, it's always booked at least 6 years in advance for the Derby and it just so happens to be the setting where
The Great Gatsby was conceived.
We scored an amazing room on the top floor and, once we arrived, Amanda then informed me that it was SPA DAY! I was SO excited. Mom treated me to the most amazing deep-tissue massage, exactly what this sick gal needed. We then concluded the night with a pajama party and all my faves joined in on the fun. Em brought the most amazing homemade vegetarian pizza, Rach spoiled us with her strawberry cupcakes and Marj supplied the fruit and cheese - we laughed, made prank calls and, for a split second, it felt like we were all 15 years old again. Tams, Lauren, Mando and Mom told a million stories that made us laugh - it was the perfect medicine, I felt 100 x's better when we were all together. That is why I love those girls, it's like we haven't missed a beat each and every time we reunite.
Before Friday night was through, Emmos convinced us to crash the reception to a Medical School Graduation (well, actually we didn't 100% crash it - one of the professors invited us in!) - below is a shot of Emily being her usual hilarious self:
The next day I slept in and woke up to get ready for another surprise - my sister planned a lingerie shower for me at my fave restaurant in Louisville, Third Street Cafe. Just another example of how she put so much thought into every single detail.
Below are some shots from the shower:
Forever Friends: Lauren, Kim, Kylee, Emmos, Rach and Tams
Me and Janet (my sister's amazing mother-in-love)
Me and Linda (my mom's best friend)
After the shower, Amanda had some more tricks up her sleeve. She planned a fabulous night out on the town - we hit up all the fun spots and the party followed us wherever we went!
Below are some shots from the night (Amanda made sashes for all of us to wear and gave me the adorable feathers to wear in my hair in lieu of a veil):
I had such an amazing time and I owe it to all of you:

This weekend marks bachelorette #2! Miami won't know what hit 'em!
18 days to go!
I am so impressed that you made this post b/c I know that it took time - something that you don't have much of these days. Your weekend was so much fun. I must say that the prank calls were my fav. I still laugh OUT LOUD when I think about some of the lines. You should go on syndication. You really should. I love you and can't wait to see you in less than three weeks.
